HEIDI L. BLAU, AIA, LEED

Partner

With over 25 years of experience, Heidi provides insightful program development, project management, and attentive design direction for educational, cultural, and municipal projects as a leader of the Interiors/Cultural/Educational Studio.

Currently, Heidi is completing a series of renovations at Lincoln Center, including the expansion of the Juilliard School, the renovation of Alice Tully Hall, and the redesign of the North Plaza and West 65th Street, with Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Alice Tully Hall has won numerous awards including an American Institute of Architects Honor Award for Architecture and an AIA New York State Award of Merit. These projects grow out of the new concept for the Street of the Arts that re-connects the street spaces with the existing buildings and performance venues to encourage the interaction of artists, students, faculty, and the public. She is also Partner-in-Charge of the Warren Hall Renovation at Cornell University, which involves the restoration and modernization of a 128,000-square-foot office/instructional building for the undergraduate business program. The project is being designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.

Another recently completed project is the 27,000-square-foot renovation to the Levy Library at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM). Through the consolidation of the various media collections MSSM has been able to increase the patron seating, collaboration and teaching spaces in the library. Additional past projects include a 70,000-square-foot renovation and expansion of the Gottesman Libraries at Teachers College which holds the premier collection of materials on the history and theory of education, and the York College Child and Family Center, an 11,000-square-foot new building that incorporates the facade of St. Monica’s Church, constructed in 1857.

Heidi received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University.
