NICHOLAS GARRISON, AIA, OAQ, LEED
Principal
Nicholas Garrison, AIA, OAQ, LEED, has joined FXFOWLE as a Principal and Design Director. Nicholas is an award-winning architect with over 25 years experience leading signature projects for colleges and universities as well as private secondary schools around the world. He is also an experienced library designer and museum specialist.
Nicholas is currently involved in a number of FXFOWLE's cultural and educational projects, including a new public school in Hunters Point South, the modernization of Warren Hall at Cornell University, and the new Golisano Institute for Sustainability at Rochester Institute of Technology, which is being designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
Over the past 12 years, Nicholas has led the design of more than 15 International Schools including campuses in Ankara, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Budapest, Cairo, Chennai, Delhi, The Hague, Istanbul, Sofia, and Vienna. His college and university projects include: the Cornell Lab of Ornithology; the Business, Engineering, and Information Sciences and Technology Building (BEIST) at Penn State University; the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum; Vanderbilt University's Studio Arts Center; the Athenaeum at Goucher College; and a new university for the country of Libya at Bani-Walid. He designed public libraries for Princeton and Montclair Townships. Nicholas also worked for ten years in Montreal, Canada. His projects there include the Canadian Centre for Architecture, which received an AIA National Honor Award, the Prix d'Excellence from the Ordre des Architectes du Quebec, and the Governor General's Award Premier Prix from the Canadian government.
Nicholas, a graduate of Princeton University, is a member of the American Institute of Architects as well as the Ordre des Architectes du Quebec. He is registered with the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards and is a LEED Accredited Professional by the United States Green Building Council.
