FXFOWLE’s proposed design for this new Police Station balances the client’s need for modern, state-of-the-art security systems with a desire for a more open and inviting facility that engages the community. A prominent public plaza, visible, attractive, and welcoming to the neighborhood, is the driving force behind the design, while more security-conscious areas of the facility, such as holding areas and interrogation rooms, have been located towards the back of the building and away from the general public.

To embody the growing and progressive nature of the community, a 250,000 square foot office building is also being designed for this prominent yet currently under-developed urban site directly above the area Metro station. The iconic structure will serve as a symbol of the positive direction in which the community continues to emerge. The project is being designed to achieve LEED certification by the USGBC.
