Alice Tully Hall Renovation
New York, NY
Client: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
Completion: 2009
Area: 80,000 sf
Alice Tully Hall’s major aesthetic and functional transformation involves a 25,000 square foot expansion and renovation to the lobbies, theater, and performer support spaces. The most noticeable visible enrichment is a new three-story all glass outer lobby soaring above the street. The expanded lobby is a gathering place for patrons, donors, students, and musicians both day and night. Additional changes to the lobby include a larger box office; a prominently located bar and concession space open to the public; and an elevated mezzanine-level donor room overlooking the outer lobby. With upgraded stage equipment and performer support, the 1100-seat Alice Tully Hall has state-of-the-art capabilities for concerts, film, music, and dance. FXFOWLE, in collaboration with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, is also working together on Lincoln Center Public Spaces, The Juilliard School, The Rose Building, and the North Plaza landscape.
