Linden Place High School

Queens, NY

Client: NYC School Construction Authority
Area: 150,000 sf

The new Linden Place High School in Flushing, Queens is comprised of two high schools, which will house 525 students each. In addition to the standard classroom and administrative spaces, the 150,000 square foot building includes large, shared program spaces such as a library, a gymnasium, and a café. The strength and formality of the design creates an education environment that fosters learning, collaboration, and creativity. The facility is designed under the recently created NYC Green Schools Guide and Rating System, which is used to guide the sustainable design, construction, and operation of new schools, modernization projects, and school renovations in each borough. FXFOWLE participated in an initial design and preliminary concept study.
