Mount Sinai School of Medicine is one of the world’s foremost centers for medical and scientific training. The Levy Library’s mission is to support the educational, research and patient care activities of the faculty, students and staff. The print collection totals approximately 165,000 volumes, containing over 36,000 monographs and more than 1,200 current journal subscriptions. The library maintains an extensive online collection of more than 12,000 periodical titles, approximately 500 health sciences textbooks, and more than 60 databases. The new space will create a more welcoming, efficient, modern environment. A reading room, group study areas, carrel and table seating for faculty and students will be added. In addition, natural light and high efficiency lighting systems will be integrated into the space. This is the first major renovation of the library since the building was completed in the 1970’s.
