In collaboration with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, FXFOWLE is working to redefine and reactivate Lincoln Center. The extension of The Juilliard School and the relocation of the front door will bring performance to the street. Respect for the strong architectural iconography and public spaces has inspired interventions that will complement the existing design while energizing the public experience. New teaching studios, practice rooms, orchestra rehearsal room, dance rehearsal room, black box theatre, general purpose classrooms, and faculty and administrative offices will be added to the extensive existing facility to help Juilliard maintain its academic and performance excellence. All of the performance related spaces will be acoustically isolated from neighboring spaces and fully outfitted with state-of-the-art technology and equipment.
