The mission of Barnard College’s Career Development Office is to help enable the connection between a liberal arts education and a career. The center’s staff provides individual guidance to students and alumnae as they clarify their values, strengths, and interests to make informed career decisions. The new offices create a more functional and efficient office setting as well as a student destination for employment research and seminars. Design considerations and materials selections incorporated sustainable features from dual flush toilets, to recycled carpet and low VOC paint. The program include: a library/lounge area, space for student work-study programs, interview rooms, seminar space, offices, workstations, and storage.
