FXFOWLE is designing a mixed–use office tower and concert hall in the heart of Osaka, Japan. Spanning 36 stories high, the preliminary design for this iconic tower incorporates a 750,000 square foot office building, a concert hall, and a below–grade car garage with a 225 vehicle capacity. Sustainable design elements include bicycle storage for commuters, indoor environmental quality control, and natural ventilation and humidity control. Water is conserved by collecting rainwater and reducing the use of potable water in the rooftop garden by using natural species that do not require irrigation. The building also utilizes solar orientation daylighting as well as ambient and direct daylighting.
