Currently under construction, this contextual street wall building mediates between the scale of its Chelsea neighbors and the scale of the residential program by carefully proportioning the aperture of the openings in the façade. An industrial-inspired zinc screenwall overlays an undulating window-wall that corresponds to the systematic rhythm of bedrooms and living rooms within. A singular dramatic volume pierces through to the base and marks the entrance to the building. This angular metal panel and glass object, which houses the largest of the living spaces, slips through the zinc screenwall and emerges at the top creating the building’s signature on the streetscape.
