Washington Metro Area Mixed-Use Study

FXFOWLE recently won a limited competition for a mixed-use development on a key block in a dense a Washington, DC suburb, immediately north of the Central Business District. The 680,000 square foot project includes office, hotel and residential space. The development will be built in two phases and is linked at grade by a public plaza and retail. The project is designed to be LEED Gold and will incorporate a green roof, geothermal wells for heating and cooling, microturbines, and a blackwater treatment plant. In addition, the building's orientation and façade are solar responsive.
